  • John White (Lead of Hazelnut Community)

    John is originally from the US and is now a Vicar in the CofE. He is the founder of Hazelnut Community Farm which is a worshipping community that has social innovation, economic inclusion, political and spiritual transformation at its heart all looking at how to connect with creation and address the reality of the climate emergency. Hazelnut is also a growing network around the UK which is encouraging and resourcing churches to think about their connection with and care for creation.

    When John isn’t doing stuff he enjoys people, places, and things. He is also contractually obligated to a human and they have created two offspring. :)

  • Jo Chamberlain (Chair of Trustees)

    Jo Chamberlain is the Church of England’s National Environment Policy Officer, based in Sheffield. She is part of the Faith and Public Life, which serves the Church as it seeks to engage in the public square. Her role is also about supporting local churches and dioceses to live out their missional calling to care for creation. Jo previously worked for Christian Aid, and before that was a Speech and Language Therapist. This all adds up to being an advocate for climate justice with a passion for getting the communication right.

  • Tim Barnett

    Tim has a commercial background in finance and general management in the motor trade and engineering sectors. He is now working in the charity sector for any organisation that runs three children's nurseries and a Children and Parents Centre in Southwark, London ad is trying to have a positive impact on climate change

    Tim lives in South East London with his wife who is a Church of England priest. He is a keen gardener and patient, life long supporter of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club

  • Ray Lei (Hazelnut Community International)

    Ray Lei, now living in the UK, was originally from China and lived in Hong Kong for more than 40 years. Ray’s an activist in environmental protection especially working on climate change issues with an international organisation and also advocating on creation care as a Christian.

  • Lucy Sablan (Potting Shed training program)

    Lucy is a pioneer minister who leads a new church community on an urban estate in Sheffield. As part of her role she has been exploring engaging the local community with nature and forming worshipping communities around growing projects. She also leads Potting Shed with Hazelnut Community Farm, a course that gathers and equips those looking to start growing projects as expressions of church. She is a novice gardener, dog mum and wife.

  • Clare Fussel (safeguarding)

    Clare Fussel has a background in coordinating environmental campaigns, with experience of running rallies, prayer vigils and political lobbying around the issue of climate change through leading the UK’s Climate Coalition, and managing Christian Aid’s Campaign Team. She is passionate about linking Christian faith with environmental action, and has previously sat on the steering committee of Faith for the Climate and has led courses at the Iona Community as well as with local campaign groups.
