Sadly we can't meet in person for this month's Nomad gathering, but our creative service is still going ahead on Zoom. As the old year passes away and the new one starts, we will be thinking about endings and beginnings and the significance of soil.
Most excitingly, we will be making indoor compost together for whoever wants to (yes, we are making that a thing... trust us it's not as bad as it sounds!)
If you want to make compost during the session you will need:
1. a large sealable tub (e.g. Tupperware or big ice-cream carton),
2. scissors or a blender (optional)
3. a pen.
In addition you will need some ingredients for your compost. If you can access these easily, you can gather them during the session, otherwise gather them ready in advance.
4. "Brown" Carbon ingredients like paper or cardboard from your recycling (egg boxes are brilliant!) or dead leaves.
5. "Green" nitrogen ingredients like fresh grass, green leaves, coffee grounds, tea bags, or uncooked vegetable scraps.
Be prepared to get a little messy on the day, but don't be worried, after the initial muckiness this indoor composter is clean easy to maintain and won't stink out your house or attract flies.
